THE UPDATE

California's sunny central coast offers much for Baby Boomers in search of adventure, especially in such places as El Capitan Canyon Resort. The folks here are downright friendly and accommodating. Be sure to say hi to my friend, Terri Bowman (General Manager) and the rest of the staff for me. Here you'll find an incredible assortment of great places to stay from custom tents to luxurious cabins, all plopped in the middle of nature under wide-open sun-drenched and star-kissed skies. While at El Capitan Canyon Resort, you can strike out on several adventures on foot, on a bike, on a horse, or in a jeep as I did in researching and producing this episode of Boomer Adventures. I had a blast rumbling along in an open-air jeep on a back-country wine tasting tour. My day that I spent ocean kayaking just outside Santa Barbara's colorful harbor and horse back riding at Circle Bar B Ranch were unforgettable. Just ask the front desk to get you in touch with Cloud Climbers Tours or Captain Jack's Tours and their group of able guides. Trust me, you will spend your days, and in some cases, nights thrilled by the adventures you undertake. I have stayed at El Capitan Canyon on a few ocassions. Each time I do I find something or somewhere new to explore that provides me with a ton of brand new and wonderful memories to take home. Don't forget to also explore nearby Santa Barbara, where you'll find great restaurants, quaint shops, and interesting museums. There's a reason they refer to the environs around here as The American Riviera. Stand on Santa Barbara's pier or atop any of several bluffs overlooking the city's crescent bay and feel the warm balmy breeze gently caressing your face, marvel at the sparkling clear aqua-marine water below, and drink in the vibrant colors of the homes and shops dotting the hills around you. It's......magical! I'll see you there.

Sam
